We are very pleased to welcome the Andria MacDonald Jazz Trio to our stage for the first time. Andria plays trumpet with the West Island Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Lindsay Place High School Band. She has formed a trio with a couple of very talented classmates, Reuben (keyboard) and Corey (drums), and together they will perform a selection of standard jazz tunes and a few special Holiday selections.

The Kevin&Kenny Acoustic Blues Duo hails from the Chateauguay Valley. Outstanding vocalist Kevin Harvey performed at the Side Door last year as part of the Boll Weevil Acoustic Band. He is joined this time by master Delta blues slide guitar player Kenny Pauzé. They are bringing us a mix of blues originals and covers, with a few country and folk tunes mixed in.

Contrary to what their name suggests, You and Me is actually a quartet, made up of its two founding members, Shawn Donnelly and Sandra J., joined by multi-instrumentalist/bassist Danny Roy and Edmund Lam on classical guitar. Citing The Beatles, Elliott Smith, Iron and Wine, and Belle and Sebastian among their influences, they combine acoustic instrumentation and rich vocal harmonies to deliver songs that tug at the heartstrings in an innocent yet profound way. Active on the Montreal folk scene, You and Me have recently released their first full length album, The Romantic and the Realist. In September, the song Head Noise Pollution was chosen as the first track on the second CD for Québec Émergent 2007. Visit them on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/theyouandmeband.

And finally, in what has become a December tradition, Plain Folk (a.k.a. the Side Door’s house band), made up of hosts Isabelle Delage, Mick Perreaux, Leigh Redding and Val Teodori, will put you in the right mood for the Holidays with a set of their off-the-beaten-path Christmas tunes!
