Tony Paradis is a talented Montreal artist who electrifies audiences with his passionate vocal and 12-string guitar performances. He has an extensive repertoire that includes “anything from Cat Stevens to Led Zeppelin”, as well as original material. This is his first time as a Side Door guest.
Æternal is the group made up of Daniel Garvin, Mike Amelotte, Dieter Fernworn and Paul Despault. Devoted to spreading the message of Christian unity through upbeat contemporary music, the guys combine catchy tunes, smooth harmonies and great stage presence. With three CDs to their credit, they have been a frequent guest of the Side Door over the years and we’re delighted to welcome them back.
From who knows where, be it Vancouver Island where he was born, the hills of New Hampshire where he received his first guitar, or the West Island of Montreal where the teen grew, John McCabe enjoys singing and playing guitar. You not only see this, you actually feel this from his performance: an eclectic mix of music from ragtime to old folk to contemporary folk to personal compositions that will soothe you. A lover of finger-picking with a newly-acquired taste for bluegrass, John will dazzle and intrigue you, and we’re delighted to welcome him for his debut on the Side Door stage.
Our friend Joan Spence (née Bell) has graced the Side Door stage many times in the past as bass player for Zoo, the Bridge End Dairy Company and others. Little did we know that she was hiding three equally musical siblings over in Hogtown. And now, she has talked sisters Karen and Shirley and brother Kevin Bell to travel up the 401 to come and do a set at the Side Door. An impeccable blend of beautiful harmonies that only family voices can achieve, coupled with superb musicianship, Related combines collective and individual experiences in original, contemporary, and traditional folk music. Performing in venues all over Toronto, the aptly-named group is currently in the studio recording a CD of original songs which will be available soon.
